Rosette Headband + Tutorial
| March 5, 2012 | Posted by Cheryl under Crafts, DIY |
When we visited Arizona, I was able to love all over our brand new 2 week old niece while we were there and I was in heaven! I couldn’t come empty handed and miss my opportunity to make some thing GIRLY for her! I decided on a Rosette Headband to match an infant tutu! Pin It Items Needed: Headband (I bought mine from Hobby Lobby) Fabric Hot glue gun/glue sticks Needle and thread To make a Rosette: Cut a strip of fabric (I just used some cotton broadcloth) 21” long and 1.5 inches wide. This will make a… Continue reading…

I am always up for a good challenge, so when Steph from Crafting in the Rain extended the opportunity to participate in her series “Make a Splash” I was totally game. The concept is that she will give us a secret supply item, and we have to make something that includes that item. I love it! I loved it even more when she said that our first secret supply item was SWEATERS! Ever since I made that cute coffee cozy from a sweater sleeve, I have been itching to up-cycle a sweater again! This time, I found a great cable… Continue reading…

I love browsing the Anthropologie site. Love it. It’s inspiring and eclectic and I want one of everything please! What I don’t love, the price tag! I came across their Gumball Necklace and fell in love. However since I do not have an extra $258 laying around to buy it, I did the next best thing and made one! Spider Web Halloween Shirt
| October 11, 2011 | Posted by Cheryl under DIY, Halloween |
I thought it might be time for a new Halloween shirt. I have been wearing the same one for probably the past 5 years. I was looking for one that was toned down a bit and definitely one that was not so “cartoon-ish”. I prefer to wear things that are festive for the season without being like “HELLO! HERE I AM!! A GIANT ORANGE PUMPKIN!” I couldn’t find one I liked for the price I wanted to pay. I mean I am going to wear this thing maybe 3 times in the month of October and I am not willing… Continue reading…
Flower Power

I am nuts about the flower applique shirts that are out there. I am not nuts about the price. $50 for a T-SHIRT??? Unless that thing cooks dinner for me and takes me to a movie, I can find better things to do with $50. Especially because the odds are high that this said shirt will get some sort of child DNA on it whether that be pee, puke, blood, snot or drool…Oh the joys of motherhood. So I set out to make my own! And for CHEAP! I bought (2) V-neck T’s at Wal-Mart for $2 each. Yep that’s right TWO-DOLLA-BABY! … Continue reading…
