Dad’s BBQ Squirt Bottle

Do you want a really simple and practical gift to make and give for Father’s day?  I have just the thing for you…my BBQ Squirt Bottle.  Most dads, uncles, grandpas and the special men in our lives spend some summer time in front of a grill.  Most of the time they have a huge cup of water or a squirt bottle to help tame the flames!  Here is a fun one to fix up and personalize for your special man!

BBQ Squirt Bottle - Father's Day Gift Idea at

This started out a long time ago.  I bought the one below for my dad at the Christmas Store at my grade school.  I think I probably spent a good $2 of my hard earned money on it :)  It was an old dish soap bottle that had “Dad’s BBQ Squirt Bottle” written on it with paint markers and some flames drawn on it.  Fast forward to just last year.  MY DAD WAS STILL USING IT!  It had to be at least 25 years old!  It was an antique people!  (That just scared me that it was 25 years ago—I am not that old!)  OK so I digress…however it had seen better days so I whipped one up for my small people to give him to replace the old one.

Easy Heart Milk and Cookies

Do you want to make a super quick sweet treat for your family for the upcoming Valentine’s day?  Well these Heart Milk and Cookies are perfect and they are minimal work with maximum cuteness!  A simple treat to whip up to show you love your crew!

Guess what?  I made these heart cookies from a box!!   My time is precious and the store bought rolls of dough and the fab boxes of mix are just super time savers for me.  Not to mention, I am pregnant…I just don’t have the motivation that I normally do.  The thought of getting out all my baking products and mixer and such just makes me want to hibernate to the couch under a giant cover!  Especially since I will have to cook dinner later in the day!

These cookies are so easy, I prepared the dough according to the box directions and then I simply pressed the dough into this adorable silicone heart pan I picked up at Wal-mart for only $4.  I baked about 2-3 minutes longer than the package stated.

Then while those were cooling I whipped up some Heart Ice Cubes using milk instead of water!   So easy, I made some pink and red ones using Wilton Food Colors that I had in my cake decorating stuff.  So easy.  Mix it with the milk and fill the same silicone tray back up  (after washing of course!)  Freeze until set.

When the kids were home from school they loved to see heart ice cubes floating in their milk and I cut a slit in the heart with a knife and hung some cookies along the rim of the glass!

Supplies Needed:

  • Lifestyle Crafts Evolution Die Cut machine
  • Genius Platform with included Dies
  • We R Memory Keepers Chevron Washi Tape (in Emerald)
  • Cardstock
  • Crop-A-Dile with included eyelets
  • Twine or Ribbon

Before I get started on this project, I want to tell you that if you are interested in any of these tools or products you can use code CHESAYS and get 20% off your order!  I’m kind of in love with this stuff!

First I cut a piece of Kraft cardstock to fit my Genius Platform and I applied a strip of Chevron Washi Tape down the length of the paper.

The Genius platform is great because it’s magnetic so your dies don’t slide around while you are positioning everything in your machine.  I followed the directions and put my die down, topped with my washi cardstock and then put down Mat A and fed it through my machine.

Handpainted Wine Glass Supplies

I started off by spelling out the word “cheers” on my glass with my scrapbooking stickers!

Next I started with one color of my 3D Opaque Gloss Enamels and made dots all round the letters.  Be sure to leave room for your second color.  Make your dots dense around the letters and then slowly taper off as you extend outwards.
