A Cricut is a machine that will cut over 80 materials electronically so you are left with beautiful, smooth and perfect cut lines!  I just love mine and use it all the time!  If you are new to the world of electronic cutters then you might want to check out my post on Getting Started with a Cricut Explore.
If you don’t want to make a design like I did, you can also use one of the many make it now projects Cricut Offers like these cute party cupcake toppers!
Today we are going to make these adorable Unicorn Cupcake Toppers and we are going to make them using Cricut’s Holographic Vinyl. Â You guys…it’s dreamy! Â I used the opal color but as you can see it looks blue, purple and pink at different angles! Â (Boy oh boy was it hard to photograph…these pictures don’t do it justice, it’s just gorgeous!)
Let’s get started! Â Here is what you will need.
Supplies for Unicorn Cupcake Toppers:
To start out, download your free unicorn cupcake topper cut file below. Â Upload it to Cricut Design Space and you can use the copy/paste features to duplicate the image to as many cupcake toppers as you need.
The vinyl needs a bit of card stock to stand up straight! Â Use any color you have! Â I just chose this kraft card stock because I have a ton of it!
From the image in your Cricut Design Space grid above you can see we will need a piece of vinyl that is 12 inches wide and 6 inches tall in order to cut all the unicorns. Â Cut that size of your vinyl. Â Next we will attach the vinyl to our card stock. Â Peel back the paper backing and apply the vinyl to the card stock. Â I find peeling back a small section of the paper, applying that small section only and then pulling the rest of the paper off as I smooth it on the card stock works best.
Next you will take your cards stock with vinyl applied and stick it on your mat and insert the mat into your Cricut machine. Â Then make sure you set the material knob to cardstock and cut!
To make the toppers take your unicorn head cut outs, add a appetizer pick (slightly longer than regular toothpicks) and attached with scotch tape. Â Then you can top all the cupcakes with holographic unicorns!

Hi Sharon! The current freebie password is at the bottom of all emails I send! I call my kids the wrong names, so I would never expect you to remember a password I give you! You can find it there!
