Peppermint Bark

Peppermint bark is one of the easiest holiday treats to make.  You really don’t even “make” it…you melt and mix it!  It’s awesome!  It’s great to give along with some cookies to your neighbors or for the bus driver and to just sit out during your holiday festivities so that people can munch on it as they day goes on!

Ingredients Needed:

  • 12 oz. Almond Bark (about half a large brick)
  • (3) regular sized Candy Canes or a handful Peppermints (6 tablespoons crushed)
  • 1 tsp. Peppermint extract

Start off by finely chopping 12 ounces of white almond bark.  You can find almond bark in the baking aisle and it just looks like a giant white chocolate bar!  Add to a glass bowl and put in microwave on high for 90 seconds.  Take out and mix well…the bark clumps will melt more as you mix.  If still lumpy, return for an additional 15 seconds.  Do NOT burn your bark!  {that was a funny sentence}

Add 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract and mix well.  Add 2 tablespoons crushed candy canes (put candy canes in Ziploc bag, roll with rolling pin until crushed).  Mix well.  Spread on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and sprinkle with remaining candy cane pieces.  Refrigerate until set.  Break apart in bite-sized pieces.

  1. Thank you – at this stage of the game, easy is all I seem to be able to muster up. I actually have some eggnog candy melts – I am going to try those as the base instead of white almond bark…wish me luck!

  2. These look great!!
    I made something similar last Sunday, but used white chocolate chips instead. They never really fully melted — instead it turned into a hard clump that was tough to stir — not sure why that was. So, I think I’ll try the almond bark next time — it seems easier. Thanks for the idea!!
