The fourth day of the fifth month is known as Star Wars Day. Because “May the fourth be with you,” right? Fans of the Star Wars movies, shows, and countless other media have adopted that day to celebrate all things Star Wars. Here is a wonderful collection of Star Wars crafts and recipes for kids!

For any Star Wars fan, it calls for a celebration. For any non-fan, why not check it out? There’s something there for almost anyone. Kids especially love the day, so here is a whole roundup of crafts, foods, and activities that can be used to celebrate this beloved franchise.

Star Wars Day Crafts
Whether it’s papercraft printables or places to store money, there are so many different May the 4th craft ideas. These projects span a range of ages, so there’s sure to be something to please kids as small as a Jawa to Wookie-sized teens.
Star Wars Jawa Rocks
For fans of a certain age, the Jawas are among the first things that really stood out in the Star Wars universe. These desert-going scavengers sell two droids that end up kicking off the main action of the original movie. And these awesome painted Jawa Rocks are a good facsimile of the aliens. And all that’s needed are some smooth rocks (river rock is ideal,) 3 colors of paint, a fine-tip permanent marker, and a couple brushes.

Baby Yoda Mason Jar Bank Craft
Next up, Baby Yoda is finally making an entrance. Of course, Grogu was going to show up at some point. No list of Star Wars Day crafts would be complete without the fan-favorite alien. This adorable bank can be made with just three colors of paint, a small mason jar, two colors of felt, and some crafting tools. This Baby Yoda Mason Jar Bank is a great place for kids to start storing money. Or adults to start up a Disney savings, maybe.

R2D2 Craft
This papercraft version of the classic droid is going to require a printer. That, or a very sharp eye and sure hand with the scissors. However the shapes are produced, young kids will love assembling this R2-D2 Craft and be proud to hang the feisty little guy on their wall once finished.

Princess Leia Paper Plate Craft
Another Star Wars craft that does require a printer, although print and cut machine instructions are also provided. Either way, once the shapes are all prepped, even little ones can enjoy making this Princess Leia Paper Plate Craft. The trailblazing princess was always ready to handle things herself, and now young kids can, too.

Yoda Paper Bag Puppet
Paper bag crafts are fun on multiple levels. Not only are they easy to make but they can be used as puppets or with imaginative play!

Star Wars Day Food
Let’s face it- the Star Wars franchise isn’t really known for appetizing-looking food. Trying to recreate Rey’s inflatable roll doesn’t really hold that much appeal. But luckily, these Star Wars Day Food ideas are all yummy snacks and treats that are inspired by Star Wars, instead of being derived from the movies. These are sure to please and offer up plenty of snacks for a movie marathon.
Light Saber Pretzel Rods
Here we bring in another crucial element of Star Wars lore; the lightsaber. No Star Wars-themed anything would be complete without the single most recognizable item from the franchise. Multiple colors of candy food melts, some large pretzel rods, and mini M&Ms are all the necessary ingredients. Sprinkles are optional. The process to make them is actually quite simple. Protip: grey would look even better than black, if it is available. Either way, these can be made ahead of time, or older kids can make them during the day’s activities.

Darth Vader Cupcakes
This recipe brings in one of the most iconic characters from Star Wars, Darth Vader. But just like Vader’s character, things here get a bit complicated. These need to be made ahead of time, as the custom Vader head edible toppers take at least 5 hours to harden. They are made with royal icing, so there is a fair amount of work to get them right. But the results speak for themselves. This recipe doesn’t take too many ingredients, and the cupcakes look amazing once completed.

Chewbacca Rice Krispie Treats
Amongst all these fun crafts and activities, some kind of snack will be a necessity. These Chewbacca Rice Krispie Treats are a perfect fit. Some chocolate crisped rice cereal, marshmallows, butter, chocolate chips, and white jimmie sprinkles are all it takes. A gingerbread man cookie cutter helps, too. If one isn’t available, regular rectangles still look great.

Bantha Milk Cocktail
Now here’s a little something for the adults. A cocktail based on the Bantha milk available at Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World. The Bantha Milk Cocktail is alcoholic, but there is a mocktail version available, as well. Who says kids get to have all the fun? Just be responsible, and make any glue gun-related projects before having this.

Galaxy Ice Cream by Keep Calm and Eat Ice Cream
One more thing that will require a little prep work, but is totally worth it, is this Galaxy Ice Cream. Handmade ice cream may sound daunting, but if Luke can destroy a world-sized space station without even using a targeting computer, ice cream is totally doable. It’s actually quite simple, and doesn’t require a fancy ice cream maker. This is sure to be a favorite treat to go side by side with a good Star Wars marathon. There may be even better ways to celebrate Star Wars Day, but they’re rarer than a Kyber crystal.

Star Wars Day Activity
Star Wars Scavenger Hunt
Scavenger hunts are a great, fun activity for kids of all ages. But let’s face it, they’re a lot of work. Luckily, this Star Wars Day activity idea took all the work out of it, by creating these rhyming Star Wars Scavenger Hunt clue cards. The kids will be off on a hunt that leads all over (and even outside) the house. A small gift can be left with the last clue as a reward for finishing the hunt. Also included are printable coloring cards to mark off each clue as they are found, and a Star Wars word scramble.

May the 4th Be With You
There are so many ways to celebrate May the 4th; this list only scratches the surface. With this many fun treats, crafts, and activities, the hard part will be fitting in time to watch a movie or two! Feel free to choose a few or try to get through them all. No matter what, have fun, and May the 4th be with you.
