Watermelon Cake
A fun summer cake to make to mimic the sweetest summer fruit! This Watermelon cake is as fun to make as it is to eat!

Ingredients
1
box
white cake mix
(plus ingredients found on box)
2
cans
store-bought containers of white icing
Mini Chocolate Chips
drops
Red food color
drops
Green food color
Instructions
Cake Directions
Prepare the cake batter as directed on the box, reserving 1 teaspoon of dry mix.
Add 3/4 cup of MINI chocolate chips and fold these by hand
*Dust the chips with the reserved dry cake batter before adding to wet mix
Bake according to box directions
Icing Direcctions
Separate 1/2 of one can of frosting into a small bowl and set aside.
Add the remaining 1 1/2 cans to a larger bowl.
Add Red food color to the smaller portion until a nice pink is formed
Add Green food color to the larger portion until it resembles a rind.
Add your first cake layer and top with pink icing. Add second cake layer and ice entire cake with green icing.
Enjoy!
Notes
UPDATE: They now sell pink cake mix and green icing ready to go so food coloring would not be needed!
