You most certainly could use scrapbooking paper! For the 11 x 14 and larger frame mats the tape was nice because the mat was larger than the paper is! I also loved the patterns of the tapes!

That way you wouldn’t have to line up the tape.

This is such a cool idea. You could keep the frame up all year and change out the mat for every season/holiday. I think you said that but what you didn’t say is that YOU are a genius.
