Spring might have finally arrived here in St. Louis. I say this in a hushed voice because last time I said this out loud we had 13 inches of snow dumped on us…and our blooming daffodils :( I am so very much looking forward to the warmer temperatures that spring brings. It gets us out of the house and give us some much needed fresh air and vitamin D!
We have lived in our house for 1 year now {on St. Patrick’s day}. It was great last year, we moved in, enjoyed all the hard work the previous owners did to keep the house and yard looking pristine. Now this year it is up to us to pick up where they left off! Spring weather gets me motivated to get up and start those outdoor projects that have been staring at us all winter long! I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way! I’m also really, really bad at designating the appropriate time to completing these tasks! Again, I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way! Yard work can be intimidating! That’s why I am so excited to be working with The Garden Club from Home Depot this spring!
Not sure where to start exactly in your yard? Well they have 8 new projects to help you #DigIn to spring! My favorite has to be this beautiful vertical garden! This is not only gorgeous but great for small yards and apartment dwellers who can’t plant things permanently in the ground!

Don’t stop there! Become a member of The Home Depot Garden Club and not only will Home Depot give you fabulous projects to start your spring off right but you can also get over $300 in email exclusive savings through out the year! Who doesn’t love savings! Have a project already in mind? Well be sure to sign up to the Garden Club first because you will receive $5 off your next garden purchase of $50 when you sign up! There is so much more too: Monthly to-do lists (you all know I love my to-do lists!), expert advice, how-to videos and so much more!
One of my biggest struggles is that I have moved all around and lived in different climates so I get really turned around with what works for each area. The Garden Club has help with that as well! Visit their National Region Map to help you out with your area!

Here are a few projects on my to-do list this spring!
- Finish collecting all the leaves
- Cut back the dead foliage
- Find a place for the BBQ grill that is not on my beautiful paver patio!
- Add a veggie garden (even if in pots)
- Add more color to our patio
- Create better flow for entertaining
- Contain the creeping plants
- Trim back a few of the privacy trees so I can view the kids’ swing set from the patio
Here is a few pictures of my back patio right now. This first one is the back of the patio that leads to the rest of the yard.
Here is the view out of my house window {the right side of the patio}
With the warmer weather approaching I am really excited to get outside and get some of these projects tackled! What makes you excited for spring???

I know exactly how you feel! We keep getting dumped on with snow here in Minnesota and it is so tough because we are itching to be outside and start seeing some green grass. Actually at this point, I’ll just take all the snow gone for the brown grass. Anything. :) Good luck with your projects!

OH Emilie, I remember! We lived in MN, in Apple Valley, for 3.5 years. The winters are SO. LONG. And when we lived there, there was record snowfall like every year! BLEH! My husband is there now. Has been all winter for work. We move and he still has to deal with the MN winters!
