Ive been looking for a plan I could use to add pergola to my deck. This is perfect with a few brace modifications. Cant wait to get started this weekend. Thanks for posting.

In reply to Mona. Mona I am totally adding "Marriage Counselor" to my resume! Ha! I am so happy this helped. My husband also thought we didn't need anything, I thought we needed concrete and then the sweet guy at Home Depot showed us these. Total lifesaver! We plan to go back and dress up the base of the posts and it will hide them totally. However they haven't bothered me yet! Good Luck on your Pergola! Send me a picture when it's complete!

OMG – this post probably just saved my marriage! DH and I have had various disagreements about the need for concrete footings for our potential pergola – I say that we must have them and he says, screw it! I had no idea post stakes existed and they’re the perfect solution for us. Thank you so much for sharing your entire project!
