My small people love to play soccer!  Ryan actually loves to play all sports, Michael has pretty much settled on soccer as his “thing”.  There are a few things I have learned since becoming a “Soccer Mom” that have made game days with little ones run much smoother!  I’d love to share my 5 Great Game Day Tips for your own Game Day Success!

5 Great Game Day Tips:

1.  Get your equipment and uniforms ready the night before!  There is nothing more annoying and hectic than getting ready to leave the house and having to hunt the entire place for a shin guard!  Lay them out the night before!

2.  Get a good night’s sleep!  It takes lots of energy for you little person to run up and down that field with their little legs!  Send them into the game well rested and they will be at their best!

3.  Stay hydrated.  Before game time, be sure to drink water.  My kids get crabby, crabby, crabby when they are hungry and dehydrated!  Fill your favorite water bottle up and let them drink before the game!  Don’t forget to bring it full to the game as well!

4.  Be your child’s biggest cheerleader, supporter and encourager!  They are learning.  They need to know it’s OK to make mistakes but to keep trying!  They might go to kick the ball and totally  miss and just yell “Shake it off and get it next time!”  I find that the more encourage, the more they try and the more they accept their little mistakes without being embarrassed or upset!  Especially the small, small guys just starting out!

5.  Eat a good breakfast or lunch!  Ryan is not a big breakfast (or lunch) eater so I struggle with this for early games.  As I said above, he gets CRABBY!  I keep some of these Dole Fruit Squish’ems in my bag on game days!  They are perfect!  They are all natural fruit and not sweetened with refined sugar or high fructose corn syrup.  They also do not contain any artificial flavors and the best thing…MY KIDS LOVE THEM!

These are also great for after the game too!  You know how it goes…you get in the car after the game and OMG MOM WE ARE STARVING comes out of their mouths!  These are perfect for on the go snacks!  I absolutely love that they are made from fresh apples only from the USA!    They are GMO and gluten free and made from BPA free packaging so you know you are giving your kids the good stuff!
