Graduation Cap Candy Pops
| May 18, 2012 | Posted by Cheryl under Crafts, Desserts, DIY, Parties, Recipes |
My baby sister is graduating with her undergrad and so I wanted to make her something fun for her party! I went to none other than the Cake Pop Queen herself for my inspiration! I adapted mine slightly just to make use of what I had on hand! Here is how I made mine! Items Needed: Pop sticks Peanut butter cups Hershey’s bars (full sized) Mini M&M’s Fruit strips I followed Bakerella’s advice and I put the peanut butter cups in the freezer for a few minutes before I unwrapped them to make them play nice and unwrap evenly! (It… Continue reading…

Simple “Smart” Teacher Appreciation Gifts
| May 10, 2012 | Posted by Cheryl under Crafts, DIY |
I wanted to do something for Michael’s teachers, after all it is Teacher Appreciation Week! Nothing fancy, but something cute and fun to just let them know we appreciate what they do! I used my Silhouette Cameo and my Sketch Pens to make the tags! I am not sure why I thought those colorful little sketch pens were so intimidating? They were a breeze to use! After I printed the words with the Sketch Pens, I then added the border and cut with my Cameo. Then I just enlarged the border and cut the green backing for the tags. To… Continue reading…
Pillow Box Business Card Holders
| May 8, 2012 | Posted by Cheryl under Crafts, DIY |
When I attended Bloggy Boot Camp a few weeks back, I knew I’d be meeting a few of my favorite bloggers in real life. I wanted to give them a little something from me! I love surprises and thought they would also! I scored a great deal on these Kraft Pillow Boxes from Blue Ming Deals. I knew that we’d be collecting a ton of business cards and if these girls were anything like me, they would need a place to keep them all together and accounted for! I thought these cute boxes would be perfect! They just needed to… Continue reading…
DIY Monogram Door Mat

“Aren’t people just going to wipe their feet on it?” A question that I would expect to hear from my husband’s mouth, but instead it came out of my 5 year old’s mouth! Just like his daddy! Me: “Well, yes, but I didn’t want it to be boring. I wanted it to be pretty!” Michael: “Alright but don’t complain to me when someone wipes mud all over it!” Me: {Seeing wheels turning in his little head} “Don’t you dare wipe mud all over it!” Michael: {Disappointed look…turned into evil mischievous look} “OK!” and runs out! BOYS! Seriously… Anyway…..I needed… Continue reading…
Washi Tape Hot Glue Gun
| April 15, 2012 | Posted by Cheryl under Crafts, DIY |
I told you I was obsessed with Washi Tape. This poor little guy never had a chance! After I finished the washi tape clothespins, and then covered the light and outlet covers with washi…this guy just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was chilling in a small bin that had a bunch of craft supplies that I needed to take back downstairs to the craft room. He was just sitting there, all quiet and white and boring. Look at him now!!!! Directions are simple…get some washi tape, cover your hot glue gun with said… Continue reading…
Washi Tape Light Switch & Outlet Covers
| April 13, 2012 | Posted by Cheryl under Crafts, DIY, Home Decor |
So I may have mentioned before that my new craft room will be shared with the washer and dryer and that’s fine by me. I don’t mind company but what I do mind are the dingy almond colored light and outlet fixtures in the room. Yuck. I just planned on switching them out for some nice bright white ones when I get around to painting the room. Then, while making my washi tape clothes pin magnets, it hit me! Why not washi tape the outlet covers??? My craft room (we will just call it that from now and leave the… Continue reading…
Washi Tape Clothespin Magnets
| April 12, 2012 | Posted by Cheryl under Crafts, DIY |
Do you Washi yet? It might be my new crafting obsession. Washi tape is a paper tape that is all cute! It’s sticky, but not permanently-ruin-what-ever-you-stick-it-to sticky. It’s giving, so if you mess up, you can have a re-do. It’s colorful and kind of replaces pretty scrapbook paper and glue! I love it. I have a few projects that I started and will share! First up are some Washi Tape Clothespin Magnets. So easy and fun! So start off with some Washi Tape. I obtained mine from several different places including Target, Mindy Mae’s Market and Pick Your Plum and… Continue reading…
Personalized To-Do List
| April 10, 2012 | Posted by Cheryl under Crafts, DIY, Organization |
Remember like a million years ago I told you how I participated in C.R.A.F.T.’s Package Pals, and that I’d share my tutorial???? And I never did, because I had to go and move and Stuff??? I don’t like being a liar so today, I will share with you how I made the To-Do List that I sent Anna as part of her package! My original inspiration came from Beckie at Infarrantly Creative! She shared her tutorial at U-Create and I just adapted it from a grocery list to a To-Do list and adapted the hardware to what I had on… Continue reading…
A Moving Update & A Mustache Mug!
| March 28, 2012 | Posted by Cheryl under Crafts, DIY |
Hi Friends!!! I miss you!!! We are getting settled in and finding a spot for all our crap, well most of it anyway! When not unpacking, we have also been LOVING spending time with family. We have never lived in the same city as family so this is really awesome for us! The boys are totally thrilled with the fact that they can see my parents…on a week night…only in a matter of minutes and then they can do it again the next day. They are NOT used to that! I bought a bunch of furniture also. A leather sectional,… Continue reading…
