Just a Bunch of Words…

Amidst the Washi Tape craze that is going on here, other stuff is happening also.

It’s good to be back in St. Louis.  If you follow hockey, you then know that the Blues are in the Stanley Cup playoffs.  If you follow baseball, then you know that today was the Cardinals home opener.  It rained all day and the Cards lost to the stupid Cubs.  I blame Friday the 13th.

I went over to my parents house on Thursday evening after dinner to borrow a sander from my dad.  It was awesome.  I packed up the kids, I drove 2 minutes, I unloaded the kids and we visited for about half an hour and then we came home.  No packing bags, no packing coolers, no driving 5+ hours, no kenneling our dog, no spending $289.96 on gas, no hearing my kids CRY because we are leaving Grandma & Grandpa’s house.  It was awesome.  It’s great to be so close.  We are heading back over there this weekend for dinner.  Super awesome.

I forgot how crazy St. Louis drivers are though.  They are crazy aggressive.  That’s your warning for when you come to visit me in my wonderful city!

Speaking of wonderful city, I got to go out for my brother’s birthday.  He turned 26.  First time we got to go out together since he turned 21 (legally).   My parents baby sat.  It was good to be out.  It was good to celebrate with him and my sister.  What? You didn’t know I had a brother?  I do, and he’s kind of great!  Both my boys want to be like him and I am 100% okay with that!

Next week I get to meet up with one of my high school best friends and we get to catch up with each other and let our kids play.  I hope this happens often.  Not just with her, but with all my old friends that are still here.

Michael is enjoying his new school.  (Which happens to be the grade school I attended!)  He has a spring program next week.  I am totally excited.  My parents can come!  Yes, don’t worry…I will post pictures of the cuteness!

Ryan is like growing at the speed of light.  Not just in height but in maturity.  He rationalizes now, understands cause and effect (for the most part) and knows that there is an order to things.  He also wants to be EXACTLY like his big brother.  It is so freaking cute, you could scream!  I scream a bunch during the day at the cuteness!

I decided to let Freddy be my personal trainer.  I was tired of the boring elliptical and followed him in his workout.  Day 1:  Legs.  Day 2: I couldn’t freaking walk and have not been back to the gym since.  Maybe next week.

New Furniture came this past week.  It’s really nice and I love it.  I am sure the kids will wreck by next week so I am enjoying it’s new smell while it lasts.

Next Saturday I am going to Bloggy Boot Camp here in St. Louis!  I couldn’t be more excited.  I get to hear Laurie Turk from Tip Junkie speak and also get to meet Erin at How to Nest for Less and Kelly from Live Laugh Rowe.  I am stoked.  I am also pretty sure Cheryl, the Tidy Mom is also going.  We share the same first and middle name so that pretty much means I love her besides the fact her blog rocks.

Things I miss in Joplin. (Yes I miss  few things)

RG.  She has 2 boys also.  Same ages as Michael and Ryan.  She could quite possibly be my soul mate in friends.  Do you have one of those people?  Who just totally get you?  Get where you are coming from and understand even your weird-ness?  Yeah, that’s her.  I miss seeing her every day.  I miss letting the little boys play while the big boys are at school.  I miss our hours of talks each day.  Thank goodness for Facebook, cell phones, texting and Skype.  Not only did we get along great but our boys did as well.  We just clicked.  I miss her in person.  I am devising a plan to get her family to move to STL as we speak…don’t worry I can be very convincing :)

OK so I lied…apparently there is only one thing in I miss in Joplin.  Maybe more will come to me later.

Speaking of convincing…I am also trying really hard to convince Nicole and Marie to move to St. Louis.  I am almost there…that’d be icing on the cake.  I like icing.

I told you this was just a bunch of words!

Moral of the blog post.  I am LOVING being back in St. Louis but I miss RG.

I hope you all have been great!  Anything new and exciting happen while I was distracted with moving and getting settled?  Share with me!  I’d love to hear it!

Have a great weekend!

And That’s What Che Said…

Hi Cheryl, It was great to have a chance to visit with you over lunch yesterday. I am soooo out of it. I never heard of washi tape, but you better believe I will be testing out this crafty product. I love the light switch covers and the clothespin magnets. Can’t wait to come back for more. Blessings, Deb
