Not So Fabulous Photos

I feel the need to explain why some of my photos on the ‘ole blog suck so bad. Let me show you my “craft cave” as I refer to it! Like I have mentioned before, we are leasing a brand spanking new townhouse here in Joplin. Here it is:
Here is the kitchen. Nice kitchen of course but do you notice anything missing???
Windows!!! Ding, ding, ding! There are no windows in my kitchen. So there is a major reason all my recipe pictures are dark and gloomy.
Next to my kitchen is my dining room. Here is the light fixture. Sure it is pretty, but the glass on the fixture casts a very dim, orange light into the room. (The cobwebs are actually Halloween decoration…well most of them anyway!)
I was standing in my dining room while taking the picture of the kitchen. Here I am in my dining room. This window and sliding glass door are in my dining room. Okay, you are thinking “Crazy lady you have windows in your dining room and you clearly don’t craft in your kitchen so what are you complaining about?”
Well just outside these two windows is this: A COVERED patio.
I know, I know…poor baby, right? A wonderful covered patio with recessed lighting and a ceiling fan, looking off into nice woods…You are right. It is great. But the combination of no windows in the kitchen, the dimly lit dining room and the COVERED patio allow about 2% of good natural light in my dining room which is where the majority of my crafting takes place and no natural lighting in my kitchen which is where all my recipe pictures take place. So my photos are quite “orange” from my “orangish” cast of light from that kitchen light fixture.
I just needed you to be aware that I am aware that my photos sometimes are gonky. (I told you I made up words.)
So bear with me until we move! Thanks, I had to get that off my chest. I feel better now. Thank you for the mini-therapy session!
Oh and sorry I didn’t clean up for you guys! My patio is cluttered with my Halloween Lantern project and my kitchen could use a bit of de-cluttering. However you can see my cute Apothecary Jars I made and my Ghost Lights and my Halloween Table Runner. Tutorials for the Runner and Lanterns are on their way
Stay tuned!

Hiya Cheryl! From Bloggy Moms :)
No worries about your kitchen lighting. It’s always sumthin’, eh? We installed new florescents in my kitchen. The guys at Lowes thought that *warm light* meant *sunlight*. I sent my husband there and told him to get us warm florescent replacement bulbs. White is a cool tone, yes? lol …. Men, go figure.
However, when everyone showed up at my house for the party, they ALL thought I had new kitchen appliances! HA!
Thanks Juls! Crack me up by the way. It constantly amazes me the differences between a woman’s idea and a man’s idea!
